Spring 2007 Award Recipients

The department of chemistry and biochemistry recently announced the recipients of the department’s annual awards.

A.W. Cordes Teaching Award - Lindsay Rutherford. This award recognizes the top instructor on the graduate student level.

The Barbara Wertheim Campbell Award - Shelly Buffington, John Faver, Jana Gertsch, Aireal Haley and James Kasbohm. This award is granted to graduating bachelor of science chemistry majors who intend to pursue a professional career in chemistry and who have completed all of their work at the University of Arkansas.

The Frederick A. Kekulé Award - Nathan Tobey. This award is given to the outstanding sophomore bachelor of science chemistry major in honor of the founder of the structural theory of organic chemistry.

Chemistry and Biochemistry Achievement Awards - Rebecca Adair, Kyle Blair, Christopher Carter, Andreas Chen, Juan Chipollini, Michael McLaughlin, Nasiem Niroumand, Miles Ritter, Christopher Sichmeller, Rachel Thomas and Laura Wilson Pratt. This award recognizes scholastically outstanding and professionally active chemistry majors beyond their freshman year.

The American Chemical Society Achievement Awards - Heather Ainsley, Natalie Anderson, Peter Davis, Megan Evans, Eric Flagg, Nicole Hart, Kristin Nagle, Clark Smith and Blake Williams. This award recognizes outstanding chemistry majors.
