B.S. Degree with a Major in Chemistry, Biochemistry Option

B.S. biochemistry check list

A minimum of 39 semester hours in chemistry including CHEM 1213/1211L, 1223/1221L (or 1103/1101L, 1123/1121L), 2262,2272, either 3504-3514/3512L or 3453/3451L, 3703/3702L, 3713/3712L, 4853, 5813-5843 or 3813-4723, and either 4213/4211L or 4123; additional required courses to include MATH 2554 and 2564; either PHYS 2013/2011L, 2033/2031L or 2053/2051L, 2073/2071L; and 15 hours of biological sciences to include BIOL 1543/1541L, 2534/2530L, BIOL 2013/2011L, and either BIOL 4233 or BIOL 3323/3321L.

The mathematics and physics courses are prerequisites for some advanced courses and should be scheduled early in the student’s program.
