Wilkins Honored with Special Issue

The International Journal of Mass Spectrometry has published a special issue to honor Distinguished Professor Charles Wilkins – “Leading-Edge Mass Spectrometry and Applications: A Special Issue Honoring Charles L. Wilkins on the Occasion of his 70th Birthday,” which was published October 15, 2009.

This issue recognizes Wilkins for his lifetime contributions to fields of mass spectrometry and analytical chemistry.  It focuses only on mass spectrometry, which represents a small fraction of his portfolio of scientific investigations, but is the field in which he has had the most recent and longest impact. The contributions reflect both new and maturing trends in leading-edge mass spectrometry and applications. The issue also includes little-known stories and examples of his important contributions to analytical chemistry and to science in general.

The Symposium to Honor Charles L. Wilkins and his Lifetime Contributions to Fields in Analytical Chemistry took place on campus in fall 2008.
